POSTO CHINGRI (PRAWN IN POPPY SEED POSTO)

Course: main Preparation time: 15 mins Cooking time: 20 mins Ingredients : Prawns. : 300 grams Chopped Onion:   2  Chopped Tomato: 2 Potatoes: 2 medium sizes diced into small cubes. Mustard Oil: 4 tbsp  Salt to taste  Sugar: 1- 2 tsp Turmeric Powder:1 tsp  Chilli Powder. : 2 tsp  Nigella (Kalo jeera) Seeds little Green Chilli Paste 2  also 3 - 4 whole green chillies (slit) Poppy Seeds Paste 4 tbsp (Poppy seeds soaked in warm water for about 10 minutes, then removed from the water and blended to a paste with 2 tbsp of water and 3-4 green chillies and a pinch of salt) Ghee: 1 tsp. Procedure: Clean the prawns carefully, de-shelled, and de-veined keeping the tails intact. Rub the prawns with a little turmeric powder and salt. Heat 1 tbsp of mustard oil in a frying pan till smoking hot.  Add the prawns and fry till light golden (be careful not to over fry the prawns). Now keep prawns aside. Fry potato cubes till gol

I love my pets

Hi FRIENDS, Today i am going to tell you about my pets who are very important part of my life . I always say i was born with a dog. As it is said that "Dogs are men's best friends" this is so very true and i love my dogs. Before my marriage we had 5 dogs in my parents house , we had 3 spitz named Lucky, Tushi and Brandy (3 generation)and 2 german shepherd named Jim and Jimmy. They were like life to the house .  After my marriage initially  my in-laws had a german shepherd too who was quite old named Jimmy who died few years after my marriage . After loosing all the dogs (they died) we thought we won't keep anymore dogs but we couldn't do so and in 2010 we got a dalmatian in our home and named her Bingo ,who was a very playful dog , she was 45 days old when i got her but it was very sad that we lost her within a year due to cerebral attack . I was really upset after she died and promised to my ownself no more dogs. Unless suddenly one day my elder son got a cute

BAINGAN BHARTA

Ingredients : Baingan - 2 medium size . Onion - 2 large chopped  Tomato - 2 medium chopped Ginger - 2 inch finely grated Garlic - 10 cloves finely chopped Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup chopped Green chilli - 4 chopped Cumin (whole) - 1/2 tsp Bay Leaf - 1 Turmeric Pd - 1 tsp Chilli Pd - 1 tsp Cumin pd -1tsp Coriander Pd - 1 tsp Amchur Pd - 1 tsp Salt - according to taste  Oil - Mustard or olive oil 2 Tbsp Procedure : Roast Baingan first then de-skin it  then mash it and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan add whole cumin and bay leaf when its little brown add chopped garlic fry little then add onion to it fry till it changes its colour .Add tomato fry it together adding little salt,  when nicely cooked add all the dry spices to and fry till it starts leaving oil and its cooked.Add mashed baingan and fry it again thoroughly till its cooked add garam masala pd and ginger chopped . Your Baingan Bharta is ready to serve . Enjoy!!!!

Happy Start

Together in new journey My day with my old sokhi's to reach out to new sokhi's. SOKHI means female friend, saheli , dost . Inspired by my very good old friend from my college days Barnali whom we friends call Kothakoli . In college we 8 girls were very close friends who were together in their lives in thick and thin times though seperated for long times and reunited very recently we are trying to help each other to do something creative which we may enjoy doing.Arati, Barnali(kotha),Madhumita,Nandini(Nondu),Nandini(Rintu),Ranjana, Sadhana(Mona/ that's me) Susmita(sulu), old good friends are still friends and hopefully will be together till their last breathe. Hope positive for the future of our friendship. I love you all my friends you are my precious possession .
