TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MONSOON
Monsoon in India is the time when mother nature is wrapped in its very best grip. Everywhere greenery increases just after scorching summer. Monsoon is the time we must be most careful of weather as we never know when it's going to rain and we should always be prepared to protect us from rain. It is also the time when insects are seen in abundance and we fall sick very often, so better be safe than feel sorry and take care of yourself. Though I am a little late to post this important helpful tips even then since it's still raining these days these tips will definitely help.
- Use Eucalyptus oil as insects repellent also it helps in nasal congestion, headache, and asthma.
- Wipe your house with a disinfectant like Lizol or Dettol etc.
- Keep your surroundings clean and make sure there is no stagnant water around.
- Avoid walking in puddles or getting wet. This can cause fungal infection in the feet.
- If you get wet when back home take a good shower cleaning yourself with soap and Dettol.
- Raincoats, umbrella, and rain boots are a must.
- Wash vegetables and fruits thoroughly after buying.
- Eats fruits like pomegranate, plum, cherries, Indian blueberries(Jamun), lichees and vegetables such as carrots, radish, and fenugreek, etc. Avoid eating mangoes and watermelon.
- Sundry your doormats and dustbins once a week.
- To keep dustbin smell and insect free, sprinkle baking soda and camphor on a piece of newspaper and fold the newspaper according to the bottom size of the dustbin and then keep it in the bottom of the bin.
- To keep your kitchen insect-free especially cockroach make a dough with 1tsp of flour and 11/2 tsp of Boric powder. Then clean the corners which are affected, then put the above-made dough in those affected corners also in places which are less approached. This dough is safe and you can use it anywhere.
- Always clean and dry all kitchen cloths, washing sponges, and scrubbers.
- Always air dry your clothes once worn before washing.
- Always keep washing machine open after each wash just for 10 minutes.
- Always carry a mosquito repellent, and reapply frequently.
- Wear a dark colour camisole under your dress, so that when you are wet nothing can be seen.
- Keep away your leather shoes, bags, and outfits instead use silicon shoes and bags.
- Try to wear cotton clothes and avoid layering with jackets and a scarf.
- Always carry a bottle of drinking water.
- Apply nail polish on your toes to prevent infection from rainwater.
- Avoid making a bun with your hair instead make a pony or keep it open so if wet it will dry fast.
- Avoid sports shoes and closed shoes instead of wear sandals.
- Avoid outside foods.
- Keep a small towel in your bag so that when needed can be used.
- No denim or sheer clothes.
